In 1989, Barack and Michelle Obama went on their first date in Chicago, where they saw Do the Right Thing during its opening weekend. Three years later, they got married. And 24 years after that, they're still going strong.
Today
is the First Couple's 24th wedding anniversary, and the president took to
social media earlier today to share an adorable picture of him and Michelle
dancing at the 2009 Nobel Banquet in Oslo, Norway.
The
Obamas' romance began when Michele was assigned to mentor Barack at the law firm
Sidley Austin in Chicago. Their story even inspired the movie South side with you which opened this
summer. In 1996, the pair was photographed for The New Yorker in
a Project about young couples in
America.
After
being posted for just two hours on Facebook, the president's picture has
already racked up nearly 500,000 likes and over 13,000 shares.
Happy
Anniversary Mr & Mrs America!!! Many more 24years to come!!!
