YAHOO ACCOUNTS HACKED

Yahoo announced on Thursday that the account information of at least 500 million users was stolen by hackers two years ago, in the biggest known intrusion of one company’s computer network.

In a statement, Yahoo said user information — including names, email addresses, telephone numbers, birth dates, encrypted passwords and, in some cases, security questions — was compromised in 2014 by what it believed was a “state-sponsored actor.”

While Yahoo did not name the country involved, how the company discovered the hack nearly two years after the fact offered a glimpse at the complicated and mysterious world of the underground web.


I lost access to my yahoo account the same year!!

A LOVE STORY STRONGER THAN FICTION

They were known as the real "Fault in Our Stars" couple, as their love story bore a resemblance to the 2012 book and 2014 movie "The Fault in Our Stars," in which teenage cancer patients fall in love.

The young couple garnered worldwide attention last year after CNN wrote about Katie's fight to get a lung transplant.

Katie and Dalton met on Facebook in 2009, when they were both 18. Katie noticed that Dalton's mother had posted a photo of Dalton in the hospital.

"If you ever need a friend to talk to, you can reach out to me," she wrote.
"Sorry, but do I know you?" he responded.

No, you don't, Katie wrote back and told Dalton a bit about herself.

"My breathing is pretty crappy and I see you are in the hospital. I'm sorry. I know it sucks!...But you just gotta stay strong," she wrote to him.

Messages between the two flew back and forth. They realized they were falling in love, but Katie's doctor urged her not to meet with him in person, because Dalton had an infection called Burkholderia cepacia, which can be deadly for people with cystic fibrosis.

She defied her doctor, and on August 28, 2009, Dalton and his mother drove more than six hours from their home in St. Charles, Missouri, to Flemingsburg, where they'd arranged to meet at the Dairy Queen.

"My heart was racing, but I just went right up to him and hugged and kissed him on the mouth without even saying hello," she remembered. "I'm usually not that kind of girl, but it just felt so right."

Katie caught Dalton's Burkholderia cepacia infection immediately, she said.
The couple wed less than two years later, and despite their infections, they were relatively healthy for the next few years.

Katie Prager, the wife, died Thursday after complications from cystic fibrosis and a lung transplant. She was 26 years old.

"Early this morning, she gained her wish of being at home, in her bed, surrounded by her mom, dad, brother and her dogs, dying peacefully, away from the hospital, tubes, IVs," her mother, Debra Donovan, posted on Facebook. "The days to follow will not be easy but I find comfort in knowing that my girl lived, she really lived."

Katie had been in hospice care in her Flemingsburg, Kentucky, home since September 7.

Her husband, Dalton Prager, died just days earlier, on Saturday, after suffering from the same disease. He was 25.

"Dalton fought a long hard battle with cystic fibrosis," Katie posted on Facebook at the time. "He was a courageous fighter and 'give up' wasn't in his vocabulary."

True love really exists when you find the perfect person to share it with.

The woman rumored to have been involved with Brad Pitt has spoke up since the news broke out.

The actress took to Instagram late Wednesday night and in a lengthy message, she told fans that she felt she needed to "speak up." Cotillard, who stars in the upcoming film "Allied" with Pitt, was the subject of rumors that she was the reason Angelina Jolie filed for divorce on Monday.

‘‘This is going to be my first and only reaction to the whirlwind news that broke 24 hours ago and that I was swept up into. I am not used to commenting on things like this nor taking them seriously but as this situation is spiraling and affecting people I love, I have to speak up. Firstly, many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting. He is my love, my best friend, the only one that I need. Secondly to those who have indicated that I am devastated, I am very well thank you. This crafted conversation isn't distressing. And to all the media and the haters who are quick to pass judgment, I sincerely wish you a swift recovery. Finally, I do very much wish that Angelina and Brad, both whom I deeply respect, will find peace in this very tumultuous moment.

Cotillard, 40, went on to tell the world that she's expecting her second child with her partner Guillaume Canet. Cotillard and Canet already have a 5-year-old son together.

STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED IN CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA

Protest broke out in North Carolina after a police officer fatally shot an African American man on Tuesday.

The second day of protests broke out after the city's police chief gave more details on the fatal shooting of Keith Lamont Scott. The face-off between police and protesters have become violent and one person is in a critical condition. 

Chief  Kerr Putney addressed Scott family's claim that he was reading a book in his vehicle when police officers approached and shot him Tuesday afternoon.

The public defender said he was shot by an African-American officer after refusing repeated demands to put down a gun, adding that a gun was recovered from the scene.


Gov. Pat McCrory declared a state of emergency, and said he'll deploy members of the National Guard and state highway patrol to Charlotte.

4 YEAR OLD OLD RAPED WHILE HER BROTHER SLEPT

A four year old girl has been reported to have been raped by her neighbor when she and her 7year old brother went to watch TV.

It was learnt that the suspect raped the girl, after the brother fell asleep.

The girl’s mother discovered this abominable act when she noticed her daughter scratching her private part ad crying. She checked and saw bloodstains and semen. When she confronted the perpetrator, the man confessed to the crime. That was how the matter got to the police.

The Lagos State Police Command has since arrested 20-year-old suspect, Bassey Johnson and the girl treated in the Primary Health care center.


This incident occurred in the Idimu area of Lagos.

EFCC FREEZE PERSONAL ACCOUNT OF FORMER FIRST LADY

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has placed a hold on Patience Jonathan’s personal account, titled ‘Patience Ibifaka Jonathan’, which is domiciled in Skye Bank Plc.

It was reported on Punchng from reliable source on Wednesday that the move had become necessary due to the prima facie case established against the former President Goodluck Jonathan’s wife.

The EFCC had frozen four companies’ accounts in Skye Bank with a balance of $15,591,700, as part of investigations into alleged diversion against a former Special Adviser to ex-President Jonathan on Domestic Affairs, Waripamowei Dudafa.

Patience however claimed that the money in the accounts belong to her.

We will be watching to see how all these play out eventually.
